Cappuzino

For a warm, relaxing and convivial drink, perfect to end a meal with friends or to be enjoyed over breakfast, our take on the cappuccino – a blend of 50ml espresso, 10ml cinnamon-flavoured syrup, milk & plentiful forth, chocolate sauce and a dusting of cinnamon powder – is a Christmas must.

Café Mandolito

Café Mandolito

For a winter temptation with a hint of almond, this freshening beverage is a combination of 100ml coffee, ice and 30ml amaretto – for good measure! Pour everything into a shaker and shake for 20 seconds so that the coffee cools immediately. Then generously fold whipped cream into the coffee until frothy.

Coffee Liqueur

For a creamy, rich coffee dessert with liqueur, combine 2oz of Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur and 6oz of hot coffee. The liquid delivers a bitter-sweet kick or works as a remarkable base for a number of cocktails – most notable of which is the espresso martini. Just add vodka.

This drink works well on its own as a party cocktail, but also welcome treat at dinner parties for a luxurious digestif after the main meal.

Coffee Truffles

For a moreish and indulgent chocolate-y treat, these delicious caffeinated truffles make the perfect gift for food lovers or create an impressive party centre-piece. You’ll need 100ml of strong coffee, 200g digestive biscuits, 100g unflavoured cream cheese, 400g milk chocolate and a dash of coffee-flavoured cream liqueur.

The method

  • Crush the biscuits and mix them with coffee
  • Add the cream cheese and a dash of coffee-flavoured cream liqueur and mix
  • Melt half of the chocolate
  • Add the melted chocolate to the biscuit mixture and stir well
  • Place it in the fridge for a few hours to cool
  • Melt the rest of the chocolate
  • Take the solidified mixture from the fridge, mould into little balls and coat with melted chocolate
  • Place the truffles on greaseproof paper to dry
  • Attempt to contain your delight

Happy festive season!
